France, Iii Republic. An Expedition To Dahomey Medal, C.1895 Auction Archive inscribed below in Persian "This(Mdaille commmorative de l'Expdition du Dahomey). Instituted in 1892. In silver, cornucopia hallmarked and fasces hallmarked on the reverse, engraver marked "DANIEL DUPUIS" on the obverse, measuring 30. 2 mm in diameter, dark patina, very light contact, replacement ribbon, near extremely fine. Footnote: The Expedition to Dahomey Commemorative Medal was instituted on November 12, 1892 and awarded to participants of the First Franco Dahomean War (1890)
