Japanese Antique early 1900's Jurojin Rough Hewn Statue Wabi-Sabi 11.5" Itomasu Featuring a large front doorThis is an antique Japanese statue of Jurojin (also Fukurokuji), the god of Prosperity and longevity. He leans on his staff in quiet serenity from a long life well lived. This piece is made of a single limb of a keyaki tree leaving most of the tree part in tact. A beautiful example of the wabi sabi aesthetic. Height = 11. 5" With = 5" Depth = 4" This object was found in Japan and brought over to our gallery in Portland, OR
