Each white marble relief is set against a dark marble ground that frames the classical outline, in the tradition of the portrait galleries of the Caesars favoured in neoclassical interiors. Every medallion is hand carved, with the laurel wreaths, drapery and facial features picked out in crisp detail. Each one measures 48 cm
