鹿は神の言葉を伝える遣いともいわれ、鹿の子文様も縁起の良いモチーフとされています。

銘仙 ― 絣（かすり）という技法を用いた平織りの絹織物。布を織る前の糸の段階で染色を行う先染めと呼ばれる織物です。等間隔の幅に並べた経糸を一本ずつ上下に分け、その間に緯糸を通していく作業を何回も繰り返し行います。経糸と緯糸の色をずらしながら織ることで柄がにじんだような風合いになるのが特徴です。大正～昭和に一世風靡した銘仙ですが、現在では生産数の少ない貴重な織物となっています。
