The leather is 10 12 oz harness leather the same kind I use to make my belts. It is over an 1 8" thick. It is 1 1 2 inches wide and will fit a 2 inch belt or strap and has chicago screws so it can be opened if you want to switch the hardware. It does come with a stainless steel d ring.. I hand make everything in my shop
