Japanese (c. 1880) Ceramic Hand Painted Imari Blue & White Charger Imari She wears a wide brimmedThis is a large 18 blue & white antique mid Meiji Era (c. 1880) Japanese ceramic charger plate with a hand painted design of the three elements of happiness: pine, bamboo and plum blossom. A very auspicious motif called Shochikubai. The "fish eye" un glazed area on the bottom was a unique kiln footing design found on late Edo to early Meiji era pottery. It measures approx. 16" in diameter by 2" tall (41 x 5 cm). And weighs 6. 10 lbs
