2018 Merlot IGT Messorio Le Macchiole Rhône-Nord After the first fermentation100% Merlot James Suckling 98 points: Lots of flowers, blueberries and orange peel. The palate is really long and extended, with ultra fine tannins that run the length of the wine. Medium to full body. Wonderful finish. Takes five to six years to open, but what a joy to taste now. Falstaff 97 points: Powerful, sparkling ruby with a violet shimmer. Open and accessible on the nose, charming notes of dark cherries, wild raspberries and a little cardamom.
