Constructed of silver, the obverse bearing a raised rightward facing profile of Kaiser Wilhelm II, circumscribed by name and title, the reverse bearing a central messenger pigeon flying over a fortress and city landscape, circumscribed by an inscription of FR VERDIENSTE UM DAS MILITAIR BRIEFTAUBENWESEN (FOR MERIT IN MILITARY MESSENGER PIGEON REARING), the obverse designer marked E. WEIGAND F.,
