Spanish War Cross - Breast Star Hold worn by The HonSpanish War Cross Breast Star, Three piece construction, in silver and enamels, 61mm, all four arms additionally engraved 15 7 1939, very fine quality, in very fine condition, no chipping to enamels. Footnote: The War Cross was instituted on January 26, 1937 and amended in 1942. It was a direct descendant of the Military Order of Mary Christine (Mara Cristina) created for the Queen Regent in 1890 and intended to reward military bravery.
