The program followed a group of army medical personnel during the Korean War, taking on complex issues with a light touch. It featured such characters as Captain Pierce (Alan Alda), Major Houlihan (Loretta Swit), and Sergeant Klinger (Jamie Farr), people we knew so well they almost felt like friends.
