Spain, Spanish State. An M43 Garrison Cap Hold During the apartheid eraA very well preserved Spanish Army M43 garrison cap, constructed of coarse olive drab wool. It features fold down side panels emanating from the rim of the sides and back, providing optional ear and neck protection to the wearer. The sides bear chin straps which secure together with two wooden buttons on the right flap meeting an analogous reinforced buttonhole on the left flap. When not in use, the straps secured together across the top of the crown.
