It does not appear to be a jasper or a rhyolite, nor does it appear to be a type of marble. I am honestly unsure of what its composition is. It almost appears to be similar to basalt in density and composition, though from the outside it appears to be sedementary in nature. It does cut pretty solid, and should take a polish.
