and the overall functionality of the clock has not been determined
while the crown is also flanked on each side by ventilation holes with crimped grommets
on a fixed loop and swivel ring for suspension from its multi-coloured ribbon with a functional horizontal pinback assembly

Germany, Imperial. A First World War Patriotic Paper Weight visually-hidden A 1936 “Der Rhein ist(Briefbeschwerer). Constructed of polished black marble, the obverse bearing a hand carved Iron Cross style Cross Patte, with a central initial W topped by a royal crown and situated above dates 1914 15, with oak leaves situated between all quadrants, unmarked, measuring 85 mm (w) x 125 mm (l), demonstrating a chip to one corner which has been carefully repaired, a wartime patriotic paperweight in very fine condition.
