Constructed of silver, the obverse featuring a raised and leftward facing profile of Claude Dornier, circumscribed by name and title with a date of 1929, the reverse bearing a raised depiction of the Dornier Do X in mid flight over the ocean, circumscribed by an inscription of TRIUMPH DEUTSCHER TECHNIK (TRIUMPH OF GERMAN ENGINEERING), above an inscription of START DES DO Z MIT 169 MANN, the edge maker marked BAYER.
