An Abyssinian War Medal 1867-1868 To Painter 2Nd Class John Purchase; H.m.s. Argus Auction 45 mm x 128 mm(J. PURCHASE PAINTER H. M. S. ARGUS). Naming is officially embossed on the reverse. Suspension is neatly repaired, hanger is missing its pinback, contact marks, very fine. Accompanied by a copy of the Medal Roll entitling him to the Abyssinian War Medal (which was forwarded to him on June 22, 1870, his service number stated as "23"), along with assorted research papers.
