Spain, Kingdom. A Royal & Military Order Of St. Ferdinand, Iii Class Laurate Star, C.1880 Auction measuring 40mm(Real y Militar Orden de San Fernando). Instituted in 1811 by King Ferdinand VII. 1850 1900 issue. Likely of French manufacture, a silver Maltese cross with ball finials, surrounded by a green enameled laurel wreath with a blue enameled vertical sword, obverse centre appliqu in Gold with red, white and blue enamels, depicting four swords united by the hilts, surrounded by the inscription AL MERITO MILITAR (to Military Merit), reverse with pin
