Turkey, Ottoman Empire. A War Medal, Galipoli Star Archive with hand embroidered “Jagdgeschwader Schlageter”(Harp Madalyas). Instituted in 1915. Cast metal with red patination, Turkish made, ball finials on the tips of the star points, measuring 56. 5 mm (w) x 54 mm (h), horizontal pinback, red patination intact, small scuff mark on the reverse of the star point at 5 o'clock, extremely fine. Footnote: The Gallipolli Star was a military decoration awarded by the Ottoman Empire. It is also known as the Ottoman War Medal. It was instituted by Sultan Mehmed V
