Germany, Wehrmacht. A General Assault Badge, by Rudolf Karneth Republic of and summer of 1940(Allgemeines Sturmabzeichen). Constructed of silvered zink, the obverse consisting of an oval oak leaf wreath, surrounding a central Heer style German national eagle clutching a mobile swastika, situated above a crossed bayonet and stick grenade, the reverse with a ball hinge and vertical pinback meeting a round wire catch, unmarked but demonstrating the characteristics of manufacture by Rudolf Karneth, Gablonz, measuring 42. 40 mm (w) x 54. 26 mm
