Instituted 12 December 1914 by Duke Friedrich II. (1914 1918 issue). Constructed of bronze, on loop for suspension from its period original ribbon, consisting of a Cross Patte, the obverse the obverse with a circular oak leaf wreath joining the inner quadrants, bearing a central raised monogram of Duke Friedrich II, the six oclock arm bearing an institution date of 1914, the twelve oclock arm bearing a royal crown,
