Germany, Federal Republic. An Observer Badge, Early 1957 Version Auction Archive head turned to its right(Beobachterabzeichen Ausfhrung 1957). Constructed of silvered tombak, the obverse consisting of an oval laurel and oak leaf wreath, joined together at the bottom by ribbon, overlaid by a swooping Luftwaffe eagle, the reverse with two visible rivets securing the eagle in position, with a raised barrel hinge and vertical pinback meeting a flat wire catch, stamped with a mark of A (possibly indicative of a connection to F. W. Assmann & Shne, Ldenscheid),
