The recipient is Helmut Niebergall, a sapper in the 15th (Sapper) Company of Grenadier Regiment 15. He was wounded on December 19, 1944, for which he received the Wound Badge in Black on March 29, 1945. The document is signed in pencil by an Oberstarzt (doctor in the rank of Colonel) and Head Physician of the military hospital of the Luftwaffe 8 VII, the name
