Aromas of dark plum and liquorice are drowned out by some prominent toasty vanillin oak with notions of graphite and blackpepper also evident. Fruity plum flavours drive the mid weighted palate with some red liquorice, dried herbs, spicy oak and pepper characters on the back half. Fine grained tannins and fresh acidity concluding with a modest aftertaste.
