Founder Shawn Stussy made surfboards and initially took the logo he was putting on his boards and put them on shirts

They released a tape split with Grid and a demo and started to pick up scene outside of their own small scene

She followed it up a string of three records

thin and nicely faded with a few small pinholes on the shirt and collar

and San Francisco and got a rep in each city to begin selling his El Did De Los Muertos-inspired designs

The band had been active for over ten years by that point and had helped set the foundation for the ska punk scene that they were a part of. Toasters are still active to this day, and still going through many, many members.
