A First War period German brooch constructed from a gilded piece of an artillery shell driving band, featuring a black enamelled Iron Cross with oak leaves on either side, reverse presents a horizontal pinback, measures 45 mm (w) x 10 mm (h), and in overall near extremely fine condition.
