Germany, Imperial. A Wound Badge, Gold Grade Auction Archive Footnote: The Battalion was raised(Verwundetenabzeichen in Gold). Constructed of gilded magnetic metal, the obverse consisting of an oval laurel leaf wreath, joined together at the bottom by ribbon, with a central Stahlhelm, on top of crossed swords on a pebbled field, the reverse with a barrel hinge and vertical pinback meeting a round wire catch, unmarked, measuring 36. 57 mm (w) x 42. 27 mm (h), weighing 6. 0 grams, some loss of gilt finish evident, in overall very fine condition.
