United Kingdom. A Lot of Order of St. Lazarus Awards consisting of a blue enamelled Romanian Cross with clusters of nine gilt rays in eac GOLD and red enamels(Atavis et armis). Instituted in 1119. Cross in green and white enamel, each of the arms finished with two ball finials, obverse centre shows Lazarus praying to Jesus, reverse shows haloed Virgin Mary, on original green ribbon, made by Toye Kenning and Spencer Ltd, mint condition. Footnote: The Order of Saint Lazarus of Jerusalem was a Catholic military order founded by Crusaders around 1119 at a leper hospital in Jerusalem.
