Germany, Luftwaffe. A 1937 Hilfsschirm Supply Parachute consisting of a blue enamelled Romanian Cross with clusters of nine gilt rays in eac the obverse trimmed along both(Fallschirm). Constructed of multiple panels of white rayon with sturdy machine reinforced seams and retaining a full length drawstring for attachment to a load, the exterior bearing multiple ink stamps indicating that the parachute was manufactured on 4 September 1937, with additional inspection stamps for years 1938, 1939, and 1942 (the latter dated 8 March and 7 May, indicating possible deployment), demonstrating soiling consistent with age and use
