Germany, Kriegsmarine. A Bronze Grade U-Boat Combat Clasp, Second Pattern, By Schwerin & Sohn United Republic of the reverse consisting of a(U Boot Frontspange). Constructed of bronzed zinc, obverse depicts central oval laurel wreath bearing submarine above crossed swords, German national eagle clutching mobile swastika on top of wreath, flanked on each side by six oak leaves, reverse designer marked Entwurf Peekhaus and maker marked Ausf Schwerin, Berlin 68, measuring 76. 39 mm (w) x 24. 04 mm (h) and weighing 15. 9 grams, horizontal pinback missing, in otherwise very fine condition.
