Germany, Wehrmacht. A Mint War Merit Cross I Class, By Deschler & Sohn Heer. A Flak/Artillery Hauptmann’s Service Tunic blackened edges(Kriegsverdienstkreuz I. Klasse). Constructed of silvered tombak, consisting of a Maltese Cross, the obverse with pebbled arms and a central wreathed mobile swastika, the reverse with a raised barrel hinge and banjo style pinback meeting a round wire catch, the pinback maker marked with Prsidialkanzlei code 1 for Deschler & Sohn, Munich, measuring 48. 82 mm (w) x 48. 40 mm (h), weighing 18. 0 grams, an exceptional example in near mint condition.
