A gilded bronze Maltese cross, displaying a silver eagle holding a sword in its talons and the Estonian coat of arms, with three blue lions on a silver shield, the reverse presents the Latin inscription PRO PATRIA on the three upper arms of the cross, the round central medallion shows the date of foundation 24 II 1928, measuring 47. 10 mm (w) x 47. 00 mm (h), with a semi circular suspension
