Constructed of silvered steel; the obverse with a standard HJ motif consisting of an eagle in the center, perched atop a HJ diamond that is surrounded by a serrated circular border with an inner and outer rope, and the HJ motto Blut und Ehre (German Blood and Honour); the reverse with a standard soldered catch and a double prong spring bar; marked RZM M5 276 for Klein & Quenzer, Oberstein an der Nahe on the reverse; measuring 64 mm
