the obverse joined together at the bottom by a plaque bearing an inscription of “AL MÉRITO EN CAMPAÑA” (“TO MERIT IN THE CAMPAIGN”)

A Philippine Congressional Medal. In bronze, the obverse bearing the image of a flag bearer accompanied by two soldiers bearing rifles surrounded by the words PHILIPPINE INSURRECTION, the reverse bears the inscription FOR PATRIOTISM FORTITUDE AND LOYALTY surrounded by a wreath tied at the bottom with a bow, on original ribbon with pinback, 33 mm, extremely fine condition. Footnote: The Philippine Congressional Medal was instituted on 9 July 1906.
