A round bronze gilt medal, the obverse depicting the rightward facing bust of Franz Joseph, circumscribed by his name and title, the reverse inscribed DER TAPFERKEIT (For Bravery), on a broad loop for suspension from its period original tri fold ribbon, marked Bronze on the rim, measuring 40. 27 mm in diameter, weighing 21. 3 grams, in overall extremely fine
