Finland, Republic. A Winter War 1939-1940 Medal, Type Iii For Finnish Soldiers With Koivisto Clasp Hold PC (June 12Talvisodan muistomitali. Instituted in 1940. In blackened iron, magnetic, inscribed "KUNNIA ISNMAA" on the reverse, measuring 31 mm (w) x 37 mm (h), scattered surface wear on the reverse, very light contact, "KOIVISTO" battle clasp on its original ribbon, better than very fine. Footnote: The Finnish Winter War Medal was instituted on August 2, 1940 and awarded to those who served during the Winter War campaign against the Soviet Union.
