A Medal For The Proclamation Of Frederick Viii As Duke 1864 Hold slightly wrinkled and previously folded(Erinnerungsmedaille an die Proklamation Friedrichs VIII zum Herzog). Instituted in 1863. In bronze, measuring 31 mm in diameter, surface wear, along with residue evident in the recessed areas of the lettering on both sides, replacement ribbon, fine. Footnote: The medal was instituted on December 27, 1863 following Friedrichs proclamation as Duke but suppressed in 1866 following Prussias annexation of the Duchies
