A six pointed star in silver, convex, obverse centre depicting a detailed symbol of the Academy in bronze gilt, surrounded by an enameled red border featuring the Latin inscription SCIENTIA MUNDI LUX (The Science Brightens to the World), surmounted by a typical of time period Spanish Mural crown also in bronze gilt, reverse with pin assembly
