A Star Of The Royal Hispanic American Academy Of Sciences, C.1935 United Republic of 1862-63 Mexico Expedition Medal -(Medalla de la Real Academia Hispano Americana de Ciencias, Artes y Letras). Instituted 1875. 1931 1939 issued. A six pointed star in silver, convex, obverse centre depicting a detailed symbol of the Academy in bronze gilt, surrounded by an enameled red border featuring the Latin inscription SCIENTIA MUNDI LUX (The Science Brightens to the World), surmounted by a typical of time period Spanish Mural crown also in bronze gilt, reverse with pin assembly
