Instituted in 1847. Type I (1847 1905). Military Division. In Gold, a white maltese cross, crowned Os in each quadrant, the central medallion features a rampant lion on a red field, blue enamelled crossed swords atop the 12 oclock arm, the reverse medallion with the inscription RET OG SANDHED (Justice and Truth), a crown suspension features a lion atop the ball, measures 41. 24mm (w) x 68. 07mm (h), weighs 16.
