Constructed of bronzed magnetic metal, the obverse consisting of a shield bearing a stylized map of the Kuban region, topped by an inscription of KUBAN and a Wehrmacht eagle clutching a wreathed mobile swastika, affixed with all four reverse attachment prongs to a magnetic metal backplate divided by a field grey wool backer indicating Heer issue, unmarked, the shield measuring 51. 53 mm (w) x 61. 88 mm (h) with minor oxidation evident,
