The photo shows a Heer soldier in the rank of Major wearing the Knights Cross. He signed it in blue ink, the name is illegible. He also gave his Feldpost number, which most likely is 50713A, the number of the 16th Battery of Fallschirm (parachute) Artillery Regiment 1. The photo was taken in Wittenburg, northern Germany.
