The print shows Scholz in the rank of SS Obersturmfhrer wearing the Knights Cross. He signed the picture on the reverse in blue ink. Footnote: Helmut Scholz was born on July 12, 1920 in Grottkau, Upper Silesia (present day Grodkw, southern Poland). He joined the SS as a volunteer in late 1937 and was placed in the 3rd Company of SS Standarte Germania. The next year he was redeployed to SS Standarte Der Fhrer.
