Instituted 18 October 1861 by King Wilhelm I. (1869 1918 issue). Constructed of gilded silver with enamels, on loop for suspension from its period original ribbon, consisting of a Cross Patte with pebbled arms the obverse bearing a central raised crown, set within a blue enameled ring bearing a gilded inscription of GOTT MIT UNS (GOD WITH US) with arabesques, the reverse bearing a central monogram of King
