Vintage Martin Luther King, Jr. “Avery Clayton” Poster biker Because recently the Bills haveMartin Luther King, Jr. was assassinated in 1968. During his lifetime, King was a champion of Civil Rights. He won the Nobel Peace Prize in 1964, the year after he delivered his famous "I Have A Dream" speech at the March on Washington. This poster advocated for the national recognition of Martin Luther King day, something that wouldn't happen until 1983, 15 years after his death. The passage was controversial because of King's anti capitalist
