Constructed of bronze, on loop for suspension from its period original ribbon, the obverse with a raised Cross Patte bearing a central Saxon coat of arms, topped by a royal crown and flanked by a date of 1914, the reverse with a central monogram of Duke Ernst II, unmarked, measuring 31. 27 mm in diameter, in near extremely fine condition.
