Harvard Brewing Co. Barrel 1829 some with aquatint and drypointVintage beer barrel from the historic Harvard Brewing Company of Lowell, MA. Harvard Brewing has a a storied history, the company was raided during prohibition for producing "near beer" that was a little too close to real beer. It was then seized during WWII under the Enemy Alien Control program as the owner, born in Lichtenstein was believed to be German. The company operated as government owned brewery for over 10 years, finally being sold in 1956.
