Germany, Kriegsmarine. A Narvik Shield, Gold Grade Hold including a King Ludwig’s Cross(Narvikschild in Gold). Constructed of cupal, affixed to a dark blue wool backer with a zink backplate, the obverse consisting of a shield with an anchor, propeller, and edelweiss, representing the Kriegsmarine, Luftwaffe, and Gebirgsjger, respectively, topped by an inscription of NARVIK and a German national eagle perched on top of a wreathed swastika, measuring 40. 48 mm (w) x 90. 62 mm (h), moderate oxidation evident, in overall near very fine
