In silver, the obverse bearing the head of Queen Victoria facing left inscribed VICTORIA REGINA around the perimeter, the reverse bearing a crouching lion on a plinth in front of a bush inscribed "SOUTH AFRICA'' around the top perimeter, (1000 PTE J. KERR 90TH FOOT) engraved, on the original ribbon with clasp 1877 8 9, modern easel attachment affixed to the reverse of the medal, marked with W&W, silver hallmarks, very fine.
