A First War period German brooch constructed from a cartridge, featuring a branch of oak leaves at its centre, with engravings of the dates 1914 and 1916 on either side, the reverse presents a horizontal pinback, measures 40 mm (w) x 6 mm (h), with a black enamelled Iron Cross suspended below, measures 7 cm (w) x 11 mm (h), and in overall near extremely fine condition.
