Germany, Third Reich. A Luftwaffe Pilot’s Badge by Friedrich Linden, Type 2A consisting of a blue enamelled Romanian Cross with clusters of nine gilt rays in eac 61 mm x 71(Flugzeugfhrerabzeichen). Instituted March 26th, 1936. (1939 1942 issue). Constructed of nickel silver and tombac, the obverse consisting of an oval laurel and oak leaf wreath, joined together at the base by a ribbon, overlaid by a swooping Luftwaffe eagle clutching a slender swastika signature to manufacture by Friedrich Linden, the reverse with two visible rivets securing the eagle in place, with a block hinge, repaired pinback and repaired catch,
