A First War period German brooch constructed from a gilded piece of an artillery shell driving band, featuring a black enamelled Iron Cross with oak leaves and acorns on either side, the reverse presents a horizontal pinback, measures 33 mm (w) x 10 mm (h), and in overall extremely fine condition.
