Germany, Kriegsmarine. A Mint First Pattern Officer’s Pith Helmet Eagle Insignia, by Gustav Brehmer Province of China Instituted 1961(Kriegsmarine groer Helmadler fr den weien Tropenhelm). Constructed of gilded zink alloy, the obverse consisting of an enlarged Kriegsmarine eagle clutching a wreathed mobile swastikas, the reverse retaining its original downward pointing prong for pith helmet attachment, maker marked with the logo of Gustav Brehmer, Markneukirchen, measuring 105 mm (w) x 54 mm (h), a rare early and maker marked example in near mint condition.
